Wednesday, January 02, 2008 11:11 PM

Wow, time really, really flies. It's 2008!! Quite a few of major events happening this year.

1) Olympic Games is in 2008.

2) Euro Cup 2008, though i might not be watching, cuz no England. HaHa.. :P

3) Orchard Populare Bookstore FINALLY closing.

4) until i can think of any........ HaHa....

Well, i havent been updating for a very loooooooooong time. Yes, thats right. Its been too long. *Sigh* oh well, i'll try to write what i can remember in the past.

31/12/07

Supposed to meet jo @ 11.20am, but as both of us are running late, we met up @ noon instead. HaHa.. We made an appointment with a salon at 11.30am. However, when we got there at noon, there's only 2 people that already in there doing their hair.

Well, the salon is pretty nice, the design n everything is rather special. The ambience is pretty good as well, though there's one funny thing. Well, you might not even believe it if i say its the truth. HaHa..

Well, here goes: When we walked into the salon, the guy @ the counter brought us in. I guess he's the boss or sth, cuz he has an air about him. Ah, that's not the main point. He brought us to a row of chairs facing the wall, which hung one mirror that stretches from end to end. That, was not the main point as well. HeHe.. (ok, here's i'd like to turn away a bit. Normally if you're the one who walks in front and the person pulled out a chair, u'd be the 1st to sit on that chair and the next person behind will sit on the next chair thats being pulled out, right?) However, that is not the case for this, shall i say, scenario.

Well, the guy was walking in front of me, naturally, i was in behind him and behind me was jo. So when he pulled out a chair, i naturally walked up and tried to sit. However, when i took a step, he looked back to us and called "Joanne", and I was like Huh, Joanne? So I turned back to Jo and said the guy called her. Next, he pulled out another chair beside jo's and that's my seat.

After that, he appoint hair stylists to us. He's like, you're to attend to joanne, you're to attend claire, that sorta thing. Weird isn't it? HaHa..... Anyway, the hair stylist i got is called Tammy, or something like tat. HaHa... He's nt bad, he suggested the colour for my hair, and took care of everything from start to end, with the exception of washing the dye off. Joanne's however, gt a guy who looked 'hao lian'.

The hairstylist that attend to me took 2 colour book for us to choose. He flipped open 1 and give it to joanne, NOT a second later, the hair stylist for joanne walked over and asked, "So, have you choosen your hair colour?" We're both like...... "Duh, joanne only gt the book and she havent even look at the colour yet." So, the guy suggested ONE colour for joanne, and although jo did told him tat her hair very stubborn, nt that easy to absorb the colour. I dunnot if he didn't hear it or what, he chose a colour that is rather dark and not obvious for joanne. Well, if joanne wants to dye hair, and she had in mind that a colour not too dark, but yet obvious (sth like copper red or light copper brown). And she already told the guy her hair very stubborn, yet he chooses a dark colour for her. What the hell... might as well as joanne dont dye. In the end, jo chose a shade lighter than what the guy suggested.

Alright, back to me.. HaHa.. Well, after the guy that attend to me give jo the book, he came over to me a hand me the 2nd book. He asked me a lot of questions and gave me quite a lot of suggestions. HaHa.. though the 1st colours he chose was kinda weird for my taste. HaHa... He wanted me to dye my hair to some sort of purple!! my goodness!! In the end, he chose a colour for me, which is what i would prefer, though a shade darker. Nevertheless, it turned out just fine. HaHa.. Jo even said that she like my colour, and thats her ideal colour. HaHa...

Anyway, he told me that due to the last time i dyed my hair, i did bleach my highlight, so some of the highlighted area might come out slightly lighter than the rest, so he applied something on it, and then dye my hiar. The funny part is....... My whole procedure is different from Joannes.... hmmm..... Right, i'll explain:

1) He applied the something on my highlighted hair.
2) He applied the dye on the middle part of my hair.
3) He used a transparent film to wrap my hair and leave it for like 20mins.
4) He took of the film and applied another dose of dye to my ends hair.
5) Wrapped another film and use the "toaster" to heat for 20mins.
6) He took off the "toaster" and applied the last of the dye to my roots.
7) Toast my hair again for 10mins.
8) Proceed to wash my hair. (by a washer girl, who attend to jo, the guy was busy).
9) After washing, i went ahead with the spa treatment.
10) The spa treatment for me, was only like 10mins, while for jo is like half an hr..... hmm... Nw is the guy's turn to wash my hair for me.. HaHa... the girl gone off to wash other ppl hair..
11) Back to my seat, he started to cut my hair. (which took around an hr.)
12) styles my hair with wax and spray. (which meant to recommend their products to me.)

Right, that's my whole procedure. Nw on to Jo's procedure and u'll know the diff.

*all done by a 'xi tou mei'*
1) apply dye on all area of hair except only roots.
2) brings in the "toaster" and toast the hair for like 20mins.
3) took off "toaster" and apply rest of dye to roots. leave for like 20mins.
4) go wash off dye and do spa treatment. lied down @ basin for like half an hr before coming back.
5) blow dry hair and wait for hairstylist to come cut hair.
*now the hairstylist comes in*
6)trim jo's hair.......

and that's it!! totally different from mine huh! HaHa....... wonder y... The funniest part of the whole experience is....... When jo's hairstylist want to cut jo's hair, (well, normally jo would ask the person which hairstyle suits her.) the guy ask if she wants to cut short, which naturally jo declined and asked him to trim fringe and hair. So, he said to trim a bit, and it's really A BIT!! He said, "well, basically the shape of the hair (i mean the outline of the style) is there, so there's no need to cut. I'll cut the fringe for you. Normally how did you cut your fringe?" Then jo told him the way her fringe was cut.

When i go off washing hair, the xi tou mei was blow drying jo's hair, when halfway the guy took over. When i come back from the basin, the guy's already trimming the fringe and finishing. It's only when the guy's done and walked off, jo told me her hair was not cut, except only the fringe. I was like "huh?, how can like that?" totally crap man.......

Right, back to me... HaHa... when i came back frm washing hair, the guy took off the towel and he didnt really dry my hair. I can still feel water dripping off when he comb my hair.... *sigh*.. anyway, i told him i wanted a total new look and he ask if i wanted to cut bop. HaHa.. earlier on, i was asking jo if i'm to cut bop, and then when finally being asked to cut bop, i chicken out. I told him not and asked him what style suite me other than my old one. Then he said a slant look would look nice and it helps create volume since my hair was too little and fine. So i said ok, fine and he went on to cut it...... I dont know if he's new or what, but when he cut my hair....... it took him more than an hr to finish it..... hmmm..... dont you think he had taken too long? HaHa... anyway.......

The result....... yes, totally new look, and............... *sigh* the end result is a bop cut for me.... HaHaHa......... Anyway, i love my hair nw... HaHa.... i mean the style.... it looks funkier, bouncier, thicker, lighter, fresher, blah, blah, blah.... HaHa.... It's easier to maintain as well.... Though now, i have to wake up earlier than before... to style my hair.. HaHa...

Here's a pic of my new style...

OH, before i forget, that day, was considered my happiest day.. HaHa.. Cuz when i was going to meet jo, i took bus 166 from AMK interchange. The driver (indian driver) was very courteous. He greeted everyone who board the bus with a smile and when i alight @ si ma luu temple de bus stop there, i'm the 1st to arrive so, i stood in front of the bus and wait for jo. Before the driver drove off, he was waving his hand to catch my attention and when he did, he waved me goodbye and drove off... HaHa... That is one very courteous driver who I have never ever met before. Very very courteous and nice. HaHa.... surprising eh?

So, after we cut our hair, we went to chinatown to get crystals and beads. we alight in front of CK department store and we went in to enojy air-con before we continue on our way. The day's sun was simple too hot.... We went to the market place @ zhen zhu fang and had lunch. After that, we walked to buy our beads @ chinatown _____ (can't remember.. haha..) Since we have to wait til jan off work which is around 9pm, we decided to walk from chinatown all the way to city hall mrt. However, i dont know if it's we walked too fast or the time's simply pass too slow, we reached Raffles City at around 6pm. We window shopped for a while before settling down @ burger king and slack til when jan came... It was around 9pm when jan arrived. We initially wanted to meet her @ city hall mrt, but she said too big a crowd, so she came up to meet us instead. She was rather surprised by my bop look and jo was quite surprised by jan's hairstlye. HaHa...

After jan arrived, we walked outside towards marina square, but took a detour and arrived @ suntec city instead. went to take a quick bite and waited for jo's friends to arrive. However, they were still stuck @ citylink mall, so we went ahead to marina square ourselves and tried to "reserve" a good place to watch the fireworks. When jo's friends finally arrive, they were stuck in the middle and can't get to us, so in the end, it's only the 3 of us watching the fireworks. At marina square, we couldnt hear the concert or anything, and there's no clock for us to watch out for the time, so when it's nearly midnight, there's loads of different timing of countdowns and most of them were faster. Cuz the fireworks went off at exactly midnight, so after the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...... there's nothing.... HaHa.... Then suddenly, there flashes of light behind a building near esplanade indicating the countdown and blast! came the fireworks.

Boy, was the fireworks spectacular! It lasted for like 15mins and after it ended, we went to find jo's friends. But we searched and waited, searched and waited, and due to the busy network, jo can't get to her friends, and when we finally get through, it's like half an hour later, and her friends were already @ citylink mall heading towards mrt.... to think we're still @ original place searching and waiting for them... *sigh*

anyway, since we have a program after that, we decide to follow it. We walked all the way to Shenton way and there we bought a BIG GULP from 7-eleven. After that we walked to Boay Quay and walked along those restaurants which food is soo alluring..... HaHa... The crabs were like 10 times the size of the normal crabs we saw..... HaHa... (just thinking of the delicious food makes my stomach growl now... )

Slowly, we make our way to clarke quay. And it's was then we felt tired. HaHa... we sat down on a bench and chatted while taking photos. Slowly, we spaced out... zzz........ Ok, after that, we decided that we cannot keep on spacing out as it makes us felt sleepy, so we walked over to the other side of the river and went to find a place to sit down and drink something. We initially wanted to go to TCC, but queue super long, so we walked further down and finding no other cafe, i asked jo if there's a directory somewhere we can check. Jo said don't have, and we ended up standing in front of a directory and found Coffee Club on it. We walked towards the building and tried to find the cafe. It's not easy navigating through as there's a lot of people standing everywhere! The whole of clarke quay is CROWDED, full of people. Finally we found it and luckily, there's nt much queue and thank goodness we only have 3 people. We found a table very soon and in no time at all, we had ordered our food and drink.

We sat at the cafe til 3:45am when we tried to call for our bill. There's 3 staffs standing at the entrance, but they didnt see us. When someone finally saw us, it took him like half an hr to fetch our bill. We intend to take the last Night Owl bus home, but when we finally paid and walked to the bus stop, the last Night Owl had left. I suggested waiting for the 1st train, but jo cannot take it anymore, she's falling asleep. In the end, we walked to chinatown and hailed a cab home.

Along the way, I saw a lot of drunkards. Well, they seemed awake, but their actions were not. I saw 1 indian guy tried to hail a cab by standing in the middle of the road using his body to try to stop a cab. How dangerous is that? When the cab avoided him and didn't stop, he yelled after the cab and showed some fulgar sign language. Didnt he saw the cab wrote "ON CALL"? How can he do that? crazy.

In the end, when i reached home, it was around 5 in the morning. HaHa... That's how i spent my new year's eve and the 1st hours of the new year.

So, how was your eve and 1st hrs of the new year spent? Do tell me about it... HaHa...... Anyway, this post is getting too long, so i'll squeeze the 2nd part in the next update........ and it's about Xmas! HeHe...... Do keep a lookout for it! Yeah!!

That's all folks!
